Via Twitter, FSU’s P.J. Williams says he’s leaving for NFL

While the waiting game for Jame’s Winston‘s NFL decision continues, one of the quarterback’s teammates has made a decision that will cost Florida State’s defense a very talented and experienced football player.

On Twitter Tuesday afternoon, P.J. Williams announced that he has decided to forego his remaining eligibility and will make himself available for the upcoming NFL draft. Players have until Jan. 15 to officially file their paperwork with the NFL.

That, though, appears to be a mere formality for the defensive back.

Williams was a first-team All-ACC selection after starting 13 games -- he missed the opener against The Citadel with a hamstring injury -- for the Seminoles as a true junior in 2014. He started 11 games during FSU’s run to the 2013 BCS championship, taking home Defensive MVP honors in the win over Auburn.
