CeCe Jefferson now officially a Florida Gator

Better later than never, I suppose.

Five-star defensive lineman CeCe Jefferson is now officially a part of Florida’s Class of 2015. Days after announcing his commitment to Florida on national television, Jefferson’s recruiting drama is now a thing of the past as Florida confirmed the arrival of Jefferson’s somewhat long-awaited National Letter of Intent Monday morning.

Jefferson made a major signing day announcement when he declared for the Florida Gators and new head coach Jim McElwain. Jefferson’s announcement was quickly derailed temporarily by a decision to hold off on sending in the official letter of intent as his father confirmed they were holding out until making a final decision after Florida lost defensive line coach Terrell Williams to the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. This led to Florida bringing in Texas Chris Rumph, which has brought on its own recruiting drama in Austin in the domino effect of the late offseason assistant coaching carousel.

Jefferson was the final piece of Florida’s recruiting class.
