Boise State stays in-house for new OC

One week after it was reported that Boise State was losing its offensive coordinator, Bryan Harsin has found a replacement. And, as it turns out, the head coach didn’t have to look very far to find him.

In a release, Tuesday, the Broncos announced that Harsin has promoted Eliah Drinkwitz to offensive coordinator. Drinkwitz had spent the 2014 season, his first at the school, as the Broncos’ tight ends coach. He will also hold the title of quarterbacks coach.

In 2013 under Harsin, Drinkwitz served as Arkansas State’s co-coordinator. that was his first time as an OC at the collegiate level.

Drinkwitz replaces Mike Sanford, who will reportedly become the coordinator at Notre Dame. The Irish have yet to officially announce that move.

Along with Drinkwitz’s promotion, Harsin also announced a couple of other staff tweaks. Kent Riddle will take over for Drinkwitz as tight ends coach in addition to maintaining his role as special teams coordinator. Finally, Lee Marks, who played his college football for the Broncos, has been named the new running backs coach.
