A week after revealing on social media in mid-January that he is transferring from Pittsburgh, Adonis Jennings’ head coach confirmed that his former player would land at either Rutgers or Temple. Nearly two months later, the wide receiver has landed at the latter.
On Twitter earlier this week, Jennings confirmed that he will be transferring to Temple and continue his playing career with the Owls. Because of what the Philadelphia Inquirer described as a “family situation,” Jennings will seek a waiver from the NCAA that would give him eligibility immediately in 2015.
If that waiver is approved, Jennings would have three years of eligibility remaining as well as a redshirt at his disposal. If denied, Jennings would use his redshirt season in 2015, then have three years of eligibility remaining beginning in 2016.

“I really feel that Temple is the right fit,” the player told the Inquirer.
The choice of Temple over Rutgers is somewhat of a mild surprise as Jennings had verbally committed to the Scarlet Knights before flipping to the Panthers a month before signing day.
Jennings was a four-star member of Pitt’s 2014 recruiting class, rated as the No. 38 receiver in the country and the No. 9 player at any position in the state of New Jersey. Along with a running back and a pair of offensive linemen, Jennings’ 5.8 Rivals rating was the highest in the Panthers’ most recent class.
Playing sparingly as a true freshman, the 6-3, 195-pound Jennings started one of the six games in which he played. He caught six passes for 55 yards in the limited action.
