Love them or hate them, you have to give UConn credit for trying something new with their football uniforms a couple of years ago. The straight-on husky helmet was unique, although ended up just being ridiculed more than complimented by most. Could UConn be ready to abandon that helmet?
Well, we do not know just yet, but a video shared by UConn’s football department Friday morning suggests there is something in the works with the football uniform. Head coach Bob Diaco even makes an appearance.
If you got a chance to redesign UConn’s football look, where would you start? Personally, I would like to see the “UConn” script make a return to the side of the helmet, which was used from the late 1970s until 1994 when the helmet decal moved from a script style to a block letter style. Of course, this football logo would be pretty cool to see make a return, even if just for one game.
