After interest in UCLA, WVU, ex-Pitt DB drops down to D-II

A couple of months after being on the receiving end of Pat Narduzzi‘s Pittsburgh boot, Titus Howard will attempt to restart his playing career at a much lower rung on the college football ladder.

According to Karlo Zovko of 247Sports.com, Howard has decided to transfer into the Slippery Rock (Pa.) University football program. As “The Rock” plays at the Div. II level, Howard will be eligible to play immediately in 2015.

Zovko also noted that Howard had considered a move to UCLA, West Virginia and Youngstown State -- now under the direction of former Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini -- before pulling the trigger on a move to Slippery Rock.

Howard was just a two-star member of Pitt’s 2013 recruiting class, but still played in 11 games as a true freshman. In early August of last year, it was announced that he had been suspended for the entire 2014 season for unspecified violations of team rules.

In late February of this year, he was dismissed by Narduzzi for, once again, violating unspecified team rules.
