D-II the landing spot for dismissed Rutgers LB

For the second time today, we have an update on a former Power Five player dropping down a couple of rungs on the competition ladder.

According to Dan Duggan of nj.com, L.J. Liston has committed to continuing his collegiate career at Northern Michigan. As the Wildcats play at the Div. II level, Liston will be eligible to play immediately in 2015.

Nearly four months ago, the linebacker was dismissed from the Rutgers football program by head coach Kyle Flood. His time with the Scarlet Knights was marked by disciplinary issues, including a brief practice suspension last summer and a one-game suspension during the 2014 season because of academics.

The past two seasons, Liston played in 22 games. His lone start came during the 2014 season.

He was projected to be a starter at middle linebacker prior to his dismissal.
