Hilltoppers’ leading rusher charged with being drunk in public

And, yes, in case you were wondering, the Ron Whites of the college football world were alive and well this weekend.

The Bowling Green Daily News is reporting that Western Kentucky’s Leon Allen was arrested Sunday morning and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place. The running back was booked into jail at 4:40 a.m. ET, and was released six and a half hours later.

A WKU official stated that the school is aware of the situation, and that the matter will be handled internally.

Allen was far and away the Hilltoppers’ leading rusher in 2014, totaling 1,542 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground. Anthony Wales was next with 518 yards and five touchdowns.

Those totals for Allen were good for third in Conference USA and 18th nationally.
