Ex-Michigan lineman granted immediate eligibility at WVU

In somewhat of an unexpected development, West Virginia will have instant access to an incoming transfer.

On Twitter over the weekend, Kyle Bosch (pictured, bent over) announced that he has been cleared to play immediately for the Mountaineers in 2015. School officials subsequently confirmed to Rivals.com that the offensive lineman had been granted a waiver that will allow him to play this season.

There was no official word on what grounds Bosch and the university filed an appeal, although the fact that Bosch took a leave of absence from Michigan for the vast majority of the 2014 season likely played a role in the NCAA’s decision.

In mid-January, WVU announced that Bosch had transferred into the football program. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Bosch played in five games in 2013 at left guard, starting three of those contests for the Wolverines. He played in the 2014 opener vs. Appalachian State before taking what turned out to be a permanent leave of absence from UM.

A four-star member of the Wolverines’ 2013 recruiting class, Bosch was rated as the No. 7 offensive tackle; the No. 4 player at any position in the state of Illinois; and the No. 104 player nationally.
