Ex-Beaver WR will reportedly visit Tide Monday

Two days after his divorce from a Pac-12 school was confirmed, it appears Richard Mullaney may have his eyes set on a new home a lot further to the east. And south.

According to a tweet from Andrew Bone of TideSports.com, Mullaney will visit Alabama on Monday. Friday night, Oregon State had announced that the wide receiver had decided to transfer from the Beavers.

Almost immediately, ‘Bama, along with Nebraska, were mentioned as potential landing spots. There’s no word on if the Cornhuskers are still in play.

As a graduate transfer, Mullaney will be eligible to play immediately in 2015 regardless of which FBS program at which he ultimately lands.

Regardless of where Mullaney ends up, some team will get immediate and experienced help in the receiving corps.

During his time at OSU, Mullaney caught 83 passes for 1,160 yards and five touchdowns. Prior to an elbow injury that cost him the last half of the 2014 season, Mullaney was third on the Beavers in receptions (18) and receiving yards (216).
