Diddy arrested, faces alleged felony assault charges

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was arrested on Monday afternoon after allegedly assaulting UCLA strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi. Combs’ son, Justin Combs, is a defensive back for the Bruins, and he was allegedly on the receiving end of a verbal admonition from the assistant coach that was witnessed by his famous father and preceded the fight.

In a statement, UCLA confirmed that Diddy was arrested by campus police on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon. Diddy’s deadly weapon of choice? A kettlebell.

For those unfamiliar, a kettlebell is a round weight with a flat bottom and thick handle on top that is used for exercise and weight training.

“I’m thankful that our staff showed the level of professionalism that they did in handling the situation,” head coach Jim Mora said in a statement. “This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved.

“While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from any further comment at this time.”

According to the Associated Press, Combs was released on $160,000 bail from a Los Angeles County jail, several hours after his afternoon arrest.
