In the days after Florida State gave one player the boot for punching a woman in the face in a bar, another player is being investigated for potential battery of a woman. Dalvin Cook, running back for the Seminoles, is currently under investigation for battery of a 21-year old woman outside a bar in Tallahassee on June 23, per a report from The Tallahassee Democrat. No charges have been filed at this time.
According to the Tallahassee Democrat report, the woman in the incident being investigated was listed as intoxicated and had minor abrasion or bruises from the incident. The alleged victim reportedly was able to identify the suspect to police, and plans to press charges.
Cook was the ACC’s fifth-leading rusher last season, and the team leader in rushing yards for the ACC champions. Cook rushed for 1,008 yards and eight touchdowns, and he added 203 receiving yards.
Earlier this week Florida State dismissed quarterback DeAndre Johnson from the program after video of him punching a woman in the face inside a bar surfaced.
UPDATE (3:22 p.m.): A warrant for the arrest of Cook has been issued, per a report from ESPN.com.
