Apparently what we have here is a failure to take care of off-field responsibilities.
Saturday brought word that a pair of Florida Gator football players had been cited for failure to pay their tabs at a Gainesville bowling alley. A day later there’s word that another UF player, wide receiver Alvin Bailey, was arrested and jailed for a failure to appear in court.
According to 247Sports.com, Bailey was cited in May of 2014 for unknowingly driving with a suspended license, then doubled up on that the same month a year later with a second citation for driving with a suspended license.
A warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to appear in court June 9. He was arrested Saturday afternoon on that warrant.
Bailey was once a highly-touted four-star signee, rated as the No. 7 receiver in the country; the No. 12 player at any position in the state of Florida; and the No. 63 player overall according to Rivals.com. Bailey has thus far failed to even remotely live up to the recruiting hype, taking a redshirt as a true freshman in 2013 and then seeing action in just six games in 2014, mainly on special teams.
His official UF bio states that he "[d]id not record any stats on the season.”
