Mizzou dealing with injury issues at wide receiver

UCLA’s not the only Power Five football program dealing with multiple injuries at one positional group.

During a Monday morning practice, J’Mon Moore sustained what was initially described as a vague shoulder injury. While Moore hinted on social media later that night that the injury might be fairly severe, the wide receiver was ultimately diagnosed with a sprained left shoulder and is officially listed as day-to-day by the team’s medical staff.

Additionally, and perhaps more seriously, fellow receiver Johnathon Johnson suffered what has been labeled as a severely sprained right ankle during this past Saturday’s scrimmage. Because of the injury, Johnson will be sidelined indefinitely, with the possibility existing that he may not play at all in 2015.

Moore has been viewed as a potential starter. Last season as a redshirt freshman, Moore, a three-star 2013 recruit, caught two passes for 33 yards.

Johnson was a three-star member of this most recent recruiting class who was thought to have the talent to contribute immediately as a true freshman.
