Buckeyes Bovada’s overwhelming title favorite

Ohio State entered the 2015 season as a solid favorite to repeat as College Football Playoff champs. After one week of play, the Buckeyes have done nothing to diminish their standing in the eyes of one sports book. In fact, they’ve only increased it.

On the heels of the release of Heisman Trophy odds, Bovada.lv has placed OSU as an overwhelming 7/4 favorite to win the championship. In the days leading into its win over Virginia Tech Labor Day night, the Buckeyes had been a 5/2 favorite.

Alabama and TCU, both with wins over quality Big Ten teams opening weekend, saw their odds get longer at 8/1. Just a week ago, they were each at 7/1.

Keeping up with one of this week’s themes, there are 25 teams listed by Bovada with odds of 100/1 or better; nine of those 25 come from the SEC. In addition to ‘Bama, the nine are Auburn (14/1), Georgia (20/1), LSU (20/1), Texas A&M (33/1), Ole Miss (40/1), Arkansas (50/1), Tennessee (66/1) and Florida (100/1).
