First look at the new luxury suites at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field

Texas A&M is opening the doors to Texas A&M fans at the newly renovated Kyle Field today. The two-year renovation had crews working around the clock this week to put all the finishing touches in place, and it looks as though the wait was well worth it. Earlier this week I got a tour of the stadium’s new features, and to paraphrase John Hammond from Jurassic Park, they spared no expense.

One of the grand new features of the new Kyle Field are the 12 “Founder’s Suites,” which are only for the select few that can afford it. To own one of the lavish founder’s suites costs a $10 million commitment over the next 10 years. That nets the donor or donors a 20-year lease on one specially designed suite. Texas A&M says they sold out of the high-end suites in just a matter of hours.

It all starts by entering through the Hall of Champions, the new open concourse that will be the home to virtual displays to honor Texas A&M’s college football history, allow fans a chance to explore the history of the program and also have some fun with photo displays. You will notice the two logos in the floor of the entrance, another way of paying tribute to the history of the program. This section is actually open to all fans prior to kickoff.

Founder’s suite owners will have a chance to walk through a specially designed lounge entrance, complete with a grand piano and some nice artwork hanging on the walls once again honoring great players and moments from the football program’s history. Stepping foot inside the lounge alone makes one feel like they should be given a special club jacket and a pipe or something.

After heading up the stairs (or taking an elevator perhaps, legacy suite owners will be welcomed to their own box to enjoy a Texas A&M football game, complete with all the trimmings. Legacy suite owners were given some design options to add their own personal touch to each suite, from counter top finishes to the number of televisions in the box. Some chose to go with one big main screen, while others went with multiple televisions to keep tabs on all the action going on outside of College Station. And of course, each suite is decorated with some fancy Texas A&M football memorbilia.

But what about the view? It’s a pretty nice view of the field too.
