Utah, LSU up a spot in latest AP poll, Temple ranked for first time in 36 years

Who says AP voters don’t watch West Coast night games?

After a 34-18 win over Arizona State, Utah jumped a spot from fourth to third in the latest AP top 25, released Sunday afternoon. The Utes were joined in their climb by LSU, who were bumped from sixth to fifth as a reward for knocking off previously undefeated Florida, 35-28. LSU’s appearance in the top five ends the SEC’s first top five shutout streak since the 2010 season.

Elsewhere in the poll, Memphis leaped from outside the rankings to 18th after toppling Ole Miss, 37-24, while the Rebels tumbled from 13th to 24th. Fellow AAC member Temple also joined the poll for the first time since the year-end poll way back in 1979, and Pittsburgh crept in for the first time at No. 25.
