If you have ever wanted to be the target of #CollegeKickers scorn on Twitter, Florida has an opportunity for you! The Gators went looking for kickers by any means necessary, including an open audition to join the team as a walk-on kicker.
Florida’s need for a kicker developed over the weekend when kicker Jorge Powell was forced to leave the game with an injury. Backup kicker Austin Hardin stepped in and successfully kicked all three of his extra-point attempts in Florida’s loss to the Tigers. Hardin has been less fortunate on field goal attempts this season, kicking three of six tries this season (and seven of 10 last season).
So if you’ve got a leg to show off, get yourself down to Gainesville. It may not be too late.
