Fresno State WR arrested for making social media threat

Some people just know how to use social media responsibly. Fresno State wide receiver Christian Pryor appears to be one of them.

Pryor was arrested Monday after being connected to a social media post on the messaging app Yik Yak. The post said the sender would “release my frustrations” with the use of a gun on Monday afternoon. The message quickly spread on social media and included a photo of the Fresno State library. Campus security went right to work and made an arrest of a student Monday, allowing classes to continue as scheduled. Pryor was booked into a county jail after being charged for making a criminal threat with $20,000 bail. Pryor was identified by the university as the student who made the threat.

The walk-on receiver has not played this season, and odds are probably pretty good he will not be seeing the field any time soon for the Bulldogs.

“Chris Pryor is a walk-on freshman for us this year,” Fresno State football coach Tim DeRuyter said following Monday’s practice, per The Fresno Bee. “I don’t know the results of what his conversation was with the police, and subsequent to that we’ve had a press conference here on campus while we were out here at practice. I don’t know any more details than that, since I’ve been out here.”
