Four-star 2015 RB denied Wisconsin admission leaves Nebraska

The strange collegiate journey of Jordan Stevenson has taken yet another twist.

A Nebraska spokesperson has confirmed to the Omaha World-Herald that Stevenson is no longer a part of Mike Riley‘s football program and will seek a transfer to an undetermined location. No reason was given for the running back’s decision to part ways with the Cornhuskers.

Stevenson had no carries as a true freshman, but did return six kicks for 85 yards, with a long of 21. He played in a total of three games.

If Stevenson moves on to another FBS program, he’d have to sit out the 2016 season. He’d then have three seasons of eligibility remaining beginning in 2017.

“With all (due) respect to the school and fans to Nebraska I wanna say thank you for everything but I will be pursuing a career elsewhere #GBR,” Stevenson wrote in a tweet shortly after his departure was confirmed.

Rivals.com had the Texas high school product as a four-star prospect in the Class of 2015, rated as the No. 27 running back in the country and the No. 34 player at any position in the state. He originally signed with Wisconsin this past February but, for whatever academic reason, he was denied entry into UW.

In July of this year, Stevenson revealed that he had decided to play for the Badgers’ Big Ten rivals ‘Huskers. Miami was also a consideration; it’s unknown if the Hurricanes will be in the mix this time as well.
