Gary Patterson confirms Josh Doctson to miss rest of season

Unfortunately, the injury to Josh Doctson turned out to be as bad as it initially looked.

Thursday afternoon, TCU head coach Gary Patterson confirmed during a radio spot that his star wide receiver will miss the remainder of the 2015 season. The news comes a day after Doctson went to see a specialist for his injured wrist.

In the second quarter of what would end in a 49-29 loss to Oklahoma State, Doctson sustained the nasty-looking injury to his left wrist. He didn’t return to the game, and now apparently won’t return to the Horned Frogs again as the All-American is in his fifth and final season of eligibility.

Doctson is currently second in the nation in receiving yards per game (146.1) and third in receptions per game (8.7). His 14 receiving touchdowns are tied for second as well.

Last season, Doctson was a second-team All-Big 12 performer.

UPDATED 2:11 p.m. ET: There seems to be some confusion as to exactly what Patterson said during the radio interview, with the interviewer himself uncertain as well.
