Fresno State adds Alabama staffer Eric Kiesau as OC

As Alabama is in the midst of its playoff semifinal game, one of its football staffers knows he’ll be somewhere other than Tuscaloosa next season.

In a press release, Fresno State announced that Eric Kiesau has been appointed by Tim DeRuyter as the Bulldogs’ new offensive coordinator. Kiesau spent the 2015 season as an offensive analyst at Alabama.

Kiesau will remain with the Tide through their playoff run.

“After an extensive search, I’ve chosen Eric Kiesau to be our new offensive coordinator,” DeRuyter said. “Eric brings a great mix of passion, energy and a history of high achievement as a coordinator at Power 5 conference schools. I am sure the Red Wave will love his up-tempo, explosive offense as we return to competing for championships in 2016.”

Kiesau served as the coordinator at Washington in 2012-13. He’s also spent time on staffs at Kansas (2014), Colorado (2006-10) and Cal (2002-05, 2011).
