Alabama LB Tim Williams returning to school for 2016 season

The exodus of Alabama players to this spring’s NFL Draft is coming. But the Tuscaloosa-to-the-promised-land march will have one less participant than it could have.

Outside linebacker Tim Williams revealed Wednesday he will remain in school for the 2016 season.

Williams was a pass-rush specialist for the Crimson Tide this fall, ranking among the top-15 nationally with 10.5 sacks on the year. He was a major contributor on a defense that posted an FBS-best 52 sacks on the season.

Williams also ranked second on the club with 12.5 tackles for loss, but recorded only 19 total stops on the season. His aim next season, despite a first-to-second round grade he said he received, will be to up that final number.

“If I do come back, that would be my main focus, to show them that I can play the run,” Williams said on Saturday, via AL.com. “That’s my main motivation behind coming back if I come back.”
