Michigan confirms departure of two football players

As Michigan opens up their spring break practices in Florida comes news two Wolverines are no longer part of the pack. Wide receiver Da’Mario Jones and offensive lineman Blake Bars, both seniors, were not included on the team’s spring roster sheet according to Nick Baumgardner of MLive.com. Michigan has confirmed both players are noo longer with the program. There is no word at this time whether either of these players will be pursuing a graduate transfer to continue playing this fall, but that could end up being the case.

Jones played in five games last season, in which he caught one pass for two yards. He appeared in seven games in 2014 and caught one pass for 11 yards. With a good amount of turnover in the receiving game in Ann arbor this year, there should be some good competition for some playing time.

Bars played a reserve role on Michigan’s offensive line and saw very little playing time as a result. He made it into just eight games since joining the program in 2012.

If either player pursues a graduate transfer to another FBS program, they will be eligible to play immediately in the fall with their new program.
