Report: Oregon adding Fresno State to 2021 schedule

The Oregon Ducks will open the 2021 season at home against Fresno State. The Ducks and Bulldogs will square off in Autzen Stadium on September 4, 2021 according to a report from FBSchedules.com. Oregon will pay Fresno State $950,000 for the game.

The Pac-12 has no power conference scheduling requirement similar to the non-conference scheduling requirements found in the ACC, Big Ten or SEC. The Ducks, though, have at least one power conference opponent lined up each season through 2021 with the exception of 2018 (for now). The week after hosting Fresno State in 2021, Oregon will be on the road to play Ohio State. That is the second game in a previously arranged home-and-home series between the Big Ten and Pac-12 powers and first College Football Playoff national championship game participants. Oregon hosts Ohio State the previous season on September 12, 2020.

Oregon also plays Virginia and Nebraska this fall, Nebraska again in 2017, Auburn in Arlington, Texas in 2019 and BYU in 2022. Oregon has two scheduling vacancies in 2018 to fill.

Oregon will be Fresno State’s second Pac-12 opponent in 2021, and both will be played on the road. The Bulldogs head to UCLA the following week after playing the Ducks. Fresno State will play at Nebraska this year and is loaded in 2017 with road games at Alabama and Washington and a home game against BYU. Fresno State also plays Minnesota and UCLA in 2018 and Minnesota and Colorado in 2019.
