Auburn, Florida, Louisville, Mich. St. in play for MAC grad transfer Marshall Taylor

A member of a Group of Five program for the first portion of his career, Marshall Taylor (pictured, No. 21) now has his sights set on the Power Five for his next chapter.

Th erstwhile Miami of Ohio defensive back has confirmed to al.com that he has already visited Louisville as he looks for a new football home, and is expected to visit Auburn, Florida and Michigan State as well in the coming weeks. All four of those schools have offered him a scholarship, although it appears the latter three have some catching up to do with presumptive front-runner Louisville.

From the Courier-Journal:

Potential graduate transfer Marshall Taylor, a big cornerback from Miami of Ohio, said the University of Louisville “is definitely at the top” and “the team to beat” in his new recruitment after an official visit on Friday and Saturday.

Taylor... said U of L set a high bar on a visit in which he left “with no negatives.”

“Man, Louisville was awesome,” he said. “They have a really, really talented team. They are going to shock a lot of people next year.”

Taylor will graduate from the MAC Miami in May, meaning he will be eligible to play immediately in 2016 regardless of which school in his current quartet he selects. The upcoming season will be the fifth-year senior’s final year of eligibility.

The last two seasons, the 6-3, 200-pound Taylor started 22 games at cornerback for the RedHawks. He also started five games as a true freshman in 2012.

In 2015, he was second on the team with two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown.
