LSU starting guard Will Clapp to undergo hip surgery

When it comes to injuries, Will Clapp just can’t win.

According to Ross Dellenger of the Baton Rouge Advocate, the LSU offensive lineman has been battling a sports hernia issue the last few weeks. Now, on top of that, the player’s father confirmed to Dellenger, Clapp is scheduled to undergo surgery on his hip this coming Thursday; he may also undergo surgery on the hernia at the same time.

The good news is that Clapp is expected to be fully healed from the medical procedure for the start of summer camp in August. He may not be a full participant in summer workouts, however.

Last season as a redshirt freshman, Clapp started 1 games at guard, 10 on the right side and one on the left. The coaches named him to the All-SEC Freshman Team following the 2015 season.
