If Clemson played today, Mike Williams would ‘be ready to roll’

The news on the injury front continues to get better and better for one of Clemson’s most talented wide receivers.

On the Tigers’ opening drive of the 2015 season, Mike Williams sustained a neck injury after crashing into the goal post following a touchdown reception. The wide receiver was ultimately diagnosed with a “small fracture” in his neck and missed the remainder of Clemson’s run to the national championship game.

In February as the Tigers took to the field for spring practice, Williams was cleared for all non-tackling aspects of the 15 sessions. So, with the season opener against Auburn less than five months, where does Williams stand health-wise?

In 2014, Williams’ 1,030 receiving yards were tops on the team. His 57 receptions and six receiving touchdowns were second.
