Miami RB Mark Walton indefinitely suspended for DUI arrest

Miami running back Mark Walton was arrested Saturday for suspicion of DUI. With Mark Richt installed as the new Sheriff of South Beach, Walton was suspended indefinitely shortly thereafter.

“We are aware of the situation regarding Mark Walton and we have taken immediate action by suspending him from the team,” Miami athletic director Blake James said in a statement. “We have no further comment at the time.”

More charges could be coming for Walton as well. According to the Associated Press, the running back is under investigation for impersonating a law enforcement officer, which Florida classifies as a third-degree felony.

A Miami native and graduate of the famed Booker T. Washington High School, Walton accumulated 1,054 all-purpose yards and accounted for a team-leading 10 touchdowns as a freshman in 2015.
