Oklahoma transfer RB Alex Ross appears ticketed for Mizzou

Alex Ross began his collegiate career at a current Big 12 school, and now it appears he’ll end it at a former member of the conference.

First reported by Chris Gervino of KOMUSports.com, Rivals.com subsequently confirmed that Ross has signed a financial aid agreement with Missouri and will play football for the Tigers. The apparent move comes a little over a week after Ross’ decision to transfer from Oklahoma was announced.

Ross was one of the myriad graduate transfers this offseason, meaning, of course, the running back will be eligible to use his final season of eligibility in 2016. Despite the reports of a signing, there seems to be some concern amongst the Mizzou coaching staff about Ross actually following through.

A source told me earlier this week that #Mizzou‘s staff will feel safer about Alex Ross’ transfer once he signs a lease.

In 2014, Ross was second on the Sooners in rushing with 595 yards. For his OU career, Ross totaled 786 yards and five touchdowns on 123 carries.

Ross is also dangerous as a return man, with his 25.7 yards per kick return third in OU history.
