Mom offers Facebook updates on Utah State player critically injured in car wreck

The mother of a Utah State football player critically injured in a one-car wreck over the weekend has taken to social media to update her son’s condition.

On a Facebook page titled “Brady Strong,” Christy Carter Holt stated that while her son, Aggies freshman defensive end Brady Holt, is breathing on his own, he has remained unconscious since the rollover accident early Saturday afternoon. The 21-year-old Holt, who wasn’t wearing his seatbelt, was thrown from his SUV in the accident and sustained what were described as critical injuries.

Below is his mother’s most recent update on her son’s condition, posted late Tuesday morning.

Brady was very " active” yesterday. It may have been more agitation but he was responding to people. We will take anything at this point. They are going to try and remove the bolt that monitors pressure in his head. Once the bolt is removed they will take him for the MRI they were going to do yesterday. Due to the overwhelming support Brady has been receiving, we ask that at this time, to keep him in your prayers. The hospital staff has been very accommodating but we need to remember there are other patients that need the same care. Please call us or message us if yo.u would like to come up. We ask this for the safety and respect of the other patients. Thank you for all the kind words, prayers and love being sent our way. We FEEL IT. Brady will win this fight I know it. Thank you again.

In an earlier update, Carter Holt wrote "[this] sucks to say but, Brady is still in the fight for his life.”

The Utah State Police continues to investigate the accident, but it’s believed that neither drugs nor alcohol were a factor.
