Lineman Jacquis Webb transferring from Rutgers to Buffalo

Buffalo lost a transfer to a Big Ten school earlier this week, but it appears the MAC program will gain one from that conference to counter it.

Both 247Sports.com and nj.com have reported that Jacquis Webb has decided to transfer out of the Rutgers football program and continue his playing career elsewhere. And, according to the recruiting website, that elsewhere will be Buffalo.

The offensive lineman would be forced to sit out the 2016 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules. He would then, beginning in 2017, have two years of eligibility remaining.

It should be noted that neither school involved in the reported transfer have publicly addressed the status of the player with either program.

A three-star member of the Scarlet Knights’ 2014 recruiting class, Webb was rated as the No. 8 player at any position in the state of New York. He didn’t play a down at RU, taking a redshirt as a true freshman in 2014 and then not seeing the field the following season.
