Auburn gets commit from former LSU signee, top JUCO WR Brandon Martin

Things may not have worked out for Brandon Martin when it came LSU, but the touted junior college wide receiver will still begin his FBS career in the SEC.

On his personal Twitter account over the holiday weekend, Martin announced that he is “officially committed to Auburn University,” nearly one month to the day after taking an official visit to The Plains. Martin had spent the 2015 season at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

247Sports.com has Martin rated as the No. 1 JUCO receiver in the country for the Class of 2017, and he chose AU over offers from, among others, Arizona State, Arkansas, Florida, Iowa State, Louisville and Mississippi State.

The 6-4, 205-pound Martin signed with LSU coming out of high school in Texas in 2015, but failed to qualify academically. He’s expected to enroll at AU in January, and would then have three seasons of eligibility remaining, plus a redshirt year.
