Yep, watch list season is officially in full throat.
At the same time it released its watch list for the prestigious Maxwell Award, the Maxwell Football Club also unveiled a similar list for the Bednarik Award, given annually since 1995 to the nation’s top player on the defensive side of the ball. And, just like the Maxwell, the Bednarik’s initial watch list consists of 90 players.
Two 2015 semifinalists, LSU linebacker Kendell Beckwith and Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett, are among the 90 players in this first grouping.
Alabama leads all individual schools with four players. Clemson, Florida, LSU, Oklahoma, TCU and A&M all have three players each on the list.
