Four-star 2016 WR signee won’t be enrolling at Michigan, headed to prep school instead

Michigan’s 2016 recruiting will be a little bit lighter than it was this past February when the Wolverines take the field for the start of summer camp early next month.

On his personal Twitter account Friday, Brad Hawkins revealed that he will be attending a prep school for the 2016 season. Of course, that means the wide receiver won’t be enrolling at UM and, obviously, won’t be playing football for the Wolverines in 2016.

Whether Hawkins ends up at UM in 2017 remains to be seen.

I will be balling at Suffield Academy next year for a prep year 💯😎

A four-star member of the Wolverines’ 2016 recruiting class, the 6-1, 202-pound Hawkins was rated as the No. 55 receiver in the country and the No. 7 player at any position in the state of New Jersey. He held offers from, among others, Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, Florida, Miami, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Michigan’s 2016 class, rated No. 5 in the country on 247Sports.com‘s composite board, now stands at 27 players, all of whom are all listed in the university’s online student directory as having enrolled in school.
