It appears Arizona’s linebacking corps has been hit with some attrition ahead of the start of summer camp.
According to a tweet from Michael Lev of the Arizona Daily Star, Derrick Turituri is no longer a member of the Arizona football program. A quick perusal of the Wildcats’ online roster shows that the linebacker is no longer listed as a member of the team as well.
Neither Turituri nor the program have addressed the player’s status with Rich Rodriguez‘s squad.
After starting eight games in 2014, Turituri started the first four games last season before going down with a season-ending hip injury. The health issue has continued to hamper the senior, so much so that he wasn’t expected to play a significant role for the Wildcats in 2016. That, though, isn’t believed to be the reason for his departure.
In 2015, Turituri was credited with 44 tackles, five tackles for loss and three sacks.
