Mich. St.'s Mark Meyers moving on to Miami (OH) as grad transfer

At the same time Michigan State announced the departure of one (allegedly) slapped defensive back, they announced the departure of another.

Mark Meyers, the school confirmed, has decided to leave the MSU football program and transfer elsewhere. Not only that, but the school confirmed the elsewhere -- Miami of Ohio.

As Meyers will be heading to the MAC school as a graduate transfer, he’ll be eligible to play immediately in 2016. The upcoming season will be the safety’s final year of eligibility.

Meyers played in 33 career games for the Spartans, including six in 2015.

Last September, the defensive back pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He ultimately served a six-game suspension before returning for MSU’s run to the College Football Playoffs.
