Florida loses possible starting guard Antonio Riles to ACL tear

Entering the 2016 season, offensive line is expected to be the biggest question mark at Florida. Thanks to recent events, that line punctuation has gotten bigger.

GatorCountry.com was the first to report that guard Antonio Riles (pictured, No. 51) sustained “a severe knee injury requiring surgery that will probably end his season.” It was subsequently reported that the injury was to Riles’ ACL.

The injury occurred during practice Monday.

Riles played in 11 games last season, starting six of those contests. He subsequently lost his starting job midway through the season.

Riles has been working as a starting guard through practices this offseason as Martez Ivey is being held out of contact after undergoing shoulder surgery. It was thought that Ivey would swing over to tackle when he returned if Riles continued to performed well; the injury makes that a moot point.
