With a new season fast approaching on the horizon, a pair of FBS schools have announced a pair of hook-ups in future seasons.
UCF confirmed in a press release Wednesday that it has reached an agreement on a future home-and-home series with North Carolina. The Knights will visit Chapel Hill Sept. 15, 2018, while the Tar Heels make the return trip to Orlando Sept. 12, 2020.
The 2018 game will mark the first-ever between the two programs in football.
UCF had previously announced a handful of games against other Power Five teams, including Maryland (2016), Georgia Tech (2017, 2020), and Stanford (2019). In addition to the game against UNC, UCF will face FAU during the 2018 season.
The 2018 game completes Tar Heels’ 2018 non-conference schedule. UNC has previous agreements with Cal, East Carolina and Western Carolina. Old Dominion had previously been the only game on the 2020 slate.
