Earlier this week, Florida lost an offensive lineman to a season-ending injury. Thursday, another player on the other side of the ball has met a similar fate.
While the football program has yet to confirm it, SECCountry.com is reporting that C.J. McWilliams sustained a torn ACL earlier this week at practice. As a result, the cornerback will miss the entire 2016 season.
The circumstances surrounding the injury were not detailed.
McWilliams was a three-star member of the Gators’ 2016 recruiting class. On some level, McWilliams had been expected to be a contributor this coming season.
In addition to McWilliams and guard Antonio Riles, safety Quincy Lenton suffered a broken foot earlier this week in a summer camp session.
