Two of the recruits who helped P.J. Fleck land the MAC’s highest-rated recruiting class in 2016 at Western Michigan are no more.
A school spokesperson has confirmed that quarterback Matt Little and linebacker Tristian Pipp are no longer a part of Fleck’s roster. No reason was given for the twin departures.
The departures are a blow for both the present and the future.
While Little was unlikely to play this season, the 6-4, 225-pounder was viewed as a quarterback of the future-type player. Pipp, meanwhile, could’ve been an immediate contributor.
Both Little and Pipp were three-star 2016 signees. The former was the No. 45 pro-style quarterback in the country, while the latter was the No. 6 player at any position in the state of Wisconsin. Just three players in WMU’s 69th-ranked class were rated higher.
