Ivy League, ultimately, to be new home for ex-UGA QB Nick Robinson

In May, Nick Robinson, buried on Georgia’s quarterback depth chart, decided to leave Athens for an undetermined elsewhere. Three months later, he knows where he’ll ultimately end up.

On Twitter late this past week, Robinson announced that he has verbally committed to play his football for Penn. That commitment to the Ivy League school won’t take effect until 2017, however.

For the 2016 season, Robinson plans to play at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, Calif.

Robinson was a three-star 2015 prospect who walked on at UGA. He took a redshirt as a true freshman, then threw for 49 yards and a touchdown in this year’s spring game.

That did little to help his standing on the depth chart as he exited spring as the No. 4 quarterback behind Jacob Eason, Greyson Lambert and Brice Ramsey.
