Ohio State has had its share of odd recruiting stories the past year or two. Now, it’s their hated rival’s turn to take a seat in the “Theatre of WTF!?!?”
On his Twitter account Monday, four-star 2017 recruit Aubrey Solomon announced that he had decided to decommit from Michigan and reopen his recruitment. In his social media missive, Solomon wrote that he “love[s] everything about Michigan and its coaching staff and I still plan on taking my official visit with you.”God Bless 😌 pic.twitter.com/Uub9inc0Da

Interestingly, he also stated that "[r]ecruitment is a funny thing, you can easily get caught up in the moment and feel that everyone knows who you are.” Apparently, the fact that UM didn’t know where he was or, spelling-wise who he was that helped him to reopen his recruitment.
“A day or two ago, they sent my mom a card thanking us for going to the Michigan bbq, but we never went,” Solomon told 247sports.com. “I do not know which recruit they were talking to, but it was not me. It was just a little heartbreaking, for me to supposedly be so high on their list, for them to confuse me with someone else. Plus they spelled both of my names wrong after I told them, but that was not the main issue. I guess they do not have tabs on me.”
Okay then.
Solomon is the No. 5 defensive tackle in the country and the No. 8 player at any position in the state of Georgia. The 6-3, 305-pound lineman committed to the Wolverines in June of this year.
He holds offers from, among others, Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon and USC.
