LB Don Hill suspended by USC amidst Osa Masina rape investigation

A disturbing development involving one USC linebacker has officially expanded to include a second.

USC confirmed night Friday that Don Hill has been indefinitely suspended from the football program and sent home from the Trojans’ opener against Alabama in Texas. The school would only go so far as to state that the suspension stems from unspecified violations of team rules.

That punitive measure, however, came shortly after Hill was publicly connected to a police investigation.

Earlier this week, it was reported that fellow linebacker Osa Masina was under investigation in both California and his home state of Utah amidst allegations of sexual assault. TMZ.com obtained a copy of the search warrant used by police in Los Angeles to search Masina’s Los Angeles apartment as well as the linebacker’s phone. Hill is also mentioned in the warrant.

From the gossip website’s report on the alleged rape July 14:

The woman told police Masina gave her a couple Xanax pills throughout the day. The woman says she had also been drinking alcohol, including wine by the pool and chugging Captain Morgan at a frat party.

After the frat party, the woman claims she was taken to Hill’s apartment — but insists she was “out of it” due to the Xanax and the booze. However, she remembers smoking weed.

“The next thing the victim recalls is having sex with Osa Chad Masina,” the search warrant says. The woman claims she remembers Masina “holding her head and putting her mouth on his penis” while Hill had vaginal sex with her.

It’s alleged that Masina raped the same woman in both Los Angeles and Utah on two separate occasions back in July. It’s further alleged that Masina took photos and videos of the alleged sexual assault and sent them to the alleged victim’s ex-boyfriend via Snapchat, who is an unnamed Arizona Wildcat football player.

"[The former boyfriend] was able to catch a glimpse of the victim’s face. Victim’s eyes appeared to be closed and it did not appear she realized she was being recorded,” the affidavit, the Los Angeles Times reported, attached to the search warrant said. “The victim did not utter any words nor was she making any sounds. [The former boyfriend] did not recall seeing any of the victim’s limbs moving.”

The Cottonwood Heights (Utah) Police Department is investigating Masina on allegations of forcible rape, forcible sodomy, fondling and exploitation via a telecommunication device. Hill is also a subject of the investigation.

Both Hill, who appeared in five games a redshirt freshman last season, and Masina are backup linebacker for the Trojans.
