Suspect arrested in connection to robbery of Sam Foltz’s family

Without a doubt the worst item to emerge from an otherwise splendid opening weekend was that of the family of late Nebraska punter Sam Foltz getting robbed while away in Lincoln for the Huskers game honoring their loved one.

According to the Omaha World-Herald, a just ending could be on the way.

The paper reports that Greeley County (Neb.) authorities arrested a subject earlier Tuesday in connection with the robbery. The man, who was not identified, is said to have stolen a TV and tools to Jordan Foltz, Sam’s brother. The stolen items were valued at $1,400.

Greeley County sheriff David Weeks said the suspect was being held in another county on charges in connection to a different crime.

Charges in the Foltz case are still pending.

“My only comment is that is a really sad story,” Nebraska head coach Mike Riley stated. “I shouldn’t even say anything. Probably just targeted knowing.... I wouldn’t want to be that guy, I know that, in this state.”
