The roller coaster career of Al-Quadin Muhammad will continue at the FCS level. Reportedly.
According to CanesInsight.com, Muhammad is headed to Hampton University to continue his collegiate playing career. For what it’s worth, the FCS program has yet to confirm the defensive end’s addition to the roster.Some late breaking news. Normally a transfer from the FBS down to the FCS would mean immediate eligibility. Given the nature of Muhammad’s departure from Miami, his immediate status is unclear.
In late August, Muhammad, along with linebacker Jermaine Grace, was dismissed by The U for violating NCAA rules. Specifically, the two were alleged to have received impermissible benefits from a luxury sports car rental agency in Miami.
Muhammad played in 12 games in 2015, leading the team in both tackles for loss (8.5) and sacks (five). He underwent a minor surgical procedure in late April to repair an issue in one of his knees.
A suspension stemming from an off-field incident ultimately cost Muhammad the entire 2014 season. He was also suspended for the 2015 opener for an unrelated matter.
