Miss. St. sets up billboards in Dallas honoring Dak Prescott

As Mississippi State showed in a Week 1 home loss to South Alabama, the Bulldogs are going to greatly miss Dak Prescott this season. With Week 2 approaching, the football program is showing just how much it still admires the quarterback.

Prescott was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of this year’s NFL draft and, with the back injury to Tony Romo, is set to make his first career professional start this coming Sunday. So, in honor of that occasion, MSU has set up five digital billboards in and around Dallas that wishes Prescott luck on his initial NFL start.

The school stated that "[t]he billboard encompasses the line ‘wherever you go, we go with you,’ taken from a thank you video MSU unveiled earlier this year after Prescott penned a letter to MSU in Sports Illustrated.”

The past two seasons, Prescott accounted for 70 percent of the offensive touchdowns scored by the Bulldogs, and nearly 33 percent of MSU’s rushing yards for good measure. He left Starkville as the holder of more than three dozen school records, and is one of just four FBS players to throw for at least 70 touchdowns and rush for at least 40 in their careers.

The Cowboys open the 2016 season Sunday at home against the New York Giants.
