Michigan’s Jabril Peppers becomes first to win two Big Ten weekly awards for same game

Michigan linebacker/defensive back/returner/superstar Jabril Peppers returned a punt 54 yards for a touchdown and totaled nine tackles with three and a half tackles for a loss, one sack and one quarterback hurry in the Wolverines’ 45-28 win over Colorado on Saturday. And he was handsomely rewarded for those efforts.

On Monday, Peppers was named the Big Ten’s co-defensive player of the week and its special teams player of the week, becoming the first player to receive two weekly honors in the same week.

Peppers leads the FBS level with 9.5 TFLs and is fourth in average yards per punt return (21.6).

Ohio State linebacker Jerome Baker took home the other half of the co-defensive player of the week honors.
