Per his Instagram account, Ohio State LB Justin Hilliard out 6 months

For the second year in a row Justin Hilliard will have to come back from a significant injury.

On his Instagram account, the Ohio State linebacker revealed that he will be out for the next six months as he rehabs an unspecified injury. While the nature of the injury wasn’t detailed, a picture that accompanies the posting shows the redshirt freshman in a wheelchair with his left arm in a sling.

Hilliard took a redshirt his true freshman season and missed the vast majority of spring practice this year with a right biceps injury.

It’s unclear when Hilliard sustained this most recent injury, and the Buckeyes have yet to address Hilliard’s status moving forward.

A five-star member of OSU’s 2015 recruiting class, Hilliard was rated as the No. 1 player at any position in the state of Ohio and the No. 34 player overall on 247sports.com’s composite board. He was the highest-rated signee in a Buckeyes class that ranked seventh nationally.

This season, Hilliard was a backup linebacker who saw his most extensive action on special teams.
