Michigan State trio raises fists during national anthem

Protests during Week 4 of the college football season that began Friday night have bled over into Saturday’s action.

Prior to the Wiconsin-Michigan State this afternoon, three Spartans -- fullback Delton Williams, defensive end Gabe Sherrod, safety Kenney Lyke -- raised their fists in protest during the playing of the national anthem.

Sherrod, an FCS transfer once committed to Syracuse who instead transferred to MSU, stated earlier in the week that it’s "[t]ime to represent this movement publicly!!”

Time to represent this movement publicly!! Our lives matter too and even us privileged college students fear for our lives around the police

— Gabe Sherrod (@ges88_) September 20, 2016

Mlive.com published a photo on its website that shows Sherrod and his teammates with their fists in the air in protest.

That’s far from the first protest at a college football game, and we’re quite certain it won’t be the last.
